About Our Allan Hayward-Smith

Allan Hayward-Smith is the creative mind behind our Video Productions and he brings many other creative people to the table, depending on your budget and project needs.

Born in rural England, he recalls: "I grew up in the very idealistic setting of an old English countryside, the very area of the famed riddle, 'As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives..."

His father, Andy Smith, was a well-known professional boxing manager and trainer, who began teaching Allan the noble art of self-defense very early, at the age of five. Allan grew up sparring and training with some of the top boxing professionals in the world. He might have followed in his father's footwork, but because he could see the tough, difficult life of boxing, Allan decided on the life of a professional soldier instead. Little did he know...

At the early age of 17, Allan entered the Royal Marine Commandos as a junior recruit. However, just by chance, at this time there was an overcrowding of junior recruits. Allan, along with two other older rookies, was placed in with the "big boys," where the age range was 24-27. Allan then toughed his way through a grueling 30-week commando training course recognized as the longest and most arduous infantry course in the world (7 out of 10 fail). He received his Royal Marine Green Beret before his 18th birthday and became possibly the youngest marine ever to complete the senior 7 1/2-month commando training. "The things I learned on that course about team work and not quitting no matter how hard or painful things become, have stuck with me through the years."

After five years, Allan emerged from the Royal Marines ready for professional boxing. But he chose instead to start a new life in the United States, working at several careers, including commercial diving off the coast of Texas, yacht restoration in the marinas of southern California, and then video production.

Being a romantic at heart, although he does not show it as much as he admits he should, Allan developed creative abilities in writing poetry. He feels the poetic rhythm pulse forward almost effortlessly. He advises:

"Putting pen to paper helps you view your thoughts and emotions. It does not have to be poetry; it can be a letter, novel, story or movie script, it does not matter. The main thing is to get it down on paper."

Poetry is still an important part of his life, but the creative instincts now find expression in Allan's digital video productions and script writing. He has been producing in the industry for fifteen years, working closely with such successful companies as Producers Actors Consortium, Sassafras Productions, Cinema City Studios, Orange Peel Enterprises and now the award-winning team of The Association Video and Film Production Company.

On top of all this, our Allan is working back into fighting trim and hopes to apply his art, film and video production skills to professional boxing projects. Looking good, Allan!
